You'll receive expert tuition from chef Kathy Fitchett during your Wok This Way Chinese Course at Food Fiend Experience School of Cookery. Kathy has created this amazing experience to share her life long love of food and passion for cooking. Teaching people like you, sharing shortcuts and tips, saving time and making your life in the kitchen more fun. Develop your culinary skills and knowledge in this wonderful masterclass suitable for novices and experienced chefs alike.

Stir, chop, slice and sauté your way into your own kitchen (and perhaps even a few others). Cook perfect rice simply- no more lumps and clumps and messy pans to wash up. Produce a ‘healthier’ version of some restaurant favourite dishes which are much lower in fats, sugars and salt. Minus the MSG and artificial colours and flavours. You will no longer suffer from the unquenchable thirst. There will be something exciting for you to try your hand at;
Starter Course:
Cream of sweet corn soup or Wanton soup
Sesame seed prawn toast or Pork satay or Spring rolls

Main Courses (any two items listed below)
Sweet and Sour Pork
Chicken and Cashew Nuts
Lemon Chicken
Prawn/Meat and Vegetable noodle
Beef and red peppers in a garlic, chilli and black bean sauce

Steamed Rice
Mixed Stir Fried Vegetables

Egg Tarts or Coconut Tarts

Are refreshments provided Refreshments are provided throughout the day.You will also have a chance to eat the food that has prepared half way through the day and at the end of the day.
Do I need to bring anything You will be provided with aprons and all equipment and ingredients for the day. Please wear comfortable flat shoes, even bring slippers to change into to make yourself really feel at home! Dress in layers as it does hot up during the course
What will you learn You will leave with new confidence in the kitchen. Be shown how to chop, dice, slice and sauté,cook perfect rice simply and understand how to balance flavours. You will take away some top tips and shortcuts to save you time in the kitchen and make cooking a much more enjoyable experience. You will also be able to use the learning from the course to create other Chinese dishes at home as throughout the course suggestions will be provided on alternative ingredients that could be used for each dish where possible and appropriate.
What happens on the day On arrival you will have refreshments and the format of the day will be explained, followed by a tour of the Food Fiend Cookery School. Then it is down to the fun of cooking! You will be guided with verbal instruction, demonstrations and then have the chance to do it all yourself! There will be a break half way through the day to consume some of the items that have been made and then again at the end of the day. There will be plenty left for your to take home to share with loved ones too!
What will I take away with me Not only will you leave with a set of all the recipes, you will have a new found confidence in cooking Chinese food. You will leave feeling inspired to want to try out the dishes for your loved ones and friends. You will be relaxed, happy and full with a new outlook on spending time cooking.
Booking conditions 1. Booking your date- once you have made your booking you will be contacted to discuss a mutually convenient date for your course. 2.Cancellation - If you need to cancel your attendance on a course you need to give 6 weeks notice. No refund will be given but you will be able to select a mutually convenient date or someone else can be substituted in your place but Food Fiend Experience will need to be advised. In the event of a course being cancelled by The Cookery School, you will receive a full refund or a space on another course. 3. Course content – We reserve the right to change the content on any course without prior notification or consultation. 4. Special needs and dietary requirements - Please inform us at the time of booking if you have learning difficulties, food allergies or health issues so we are aware of anything which may affect your participation in, or enjoyment of the course/class. Those with nut allergies are advised that nuts and nut products are used by Food Fiend Experience. 5. Health and Safety - Cooking requires the use of heat and sharp utensils so there is inevitably a risk of accidents. To minimise this, we ask that you dress appropriately for all classes. This especially applies to suitable non-slip and no open toed footwear. We accept no liability for personal injury, or any loss of or damage to personal property. We have a strictly no smoking policy.
